What’s Beyond the Door?

WHAT’S BEYOND THE DOOR?

Sometimes a door opens before we’ve even considered going outside.

Have you ever had a glimmer of something you thought you might want to pursue or try — but just never gave it much thought?

Then life happened, and it really seemed like the time to just go for it — even though the thought was scary, you didn’t feel ready, or weren’t even sure it was what you really wanted.

But — the sting of regret could be bigger than the FOMO.

So, you decide to go for it!

That was me at the start of the year.

I’d been meticulously tracking my steps, food macros, eating clean, and losing weight consistently for four months — all in preparation for my daughter’s wedding.

I was using a fitness tracker that had been given to me for Christmas.

All was good — all was on track!

Then — I ran out of pages.

I needed a new one.

Can’t be too hard to get exactly what I need, I thought. I love playing around on Canva — perhaps I could design one for myself.

And that’s when it all started.

With a fitness planner.

After spending many happy hours in CanvaLand, I realised I could also include a tick list for all those micro habits that helped keep me on track. Water usage, getting sunshine on my face early in the morning...

So my fitness tracker started to include a habit tracker too. I liked the idea of ticking boxes even before beginning my day.

Around that time, I also realised I could include some of the good information that I’d learnt during my “Year of Learning”.

Maybe I could incorporate information that might actually help others.

How AWESOME would it be if I could support or encourage others by sharing my knowledge and passion?!?!

And before I realised — I was on my way to writing a book.

Radiance Reset was emerging!

I’d always wanted to write a book — a novel, I thought.

This wasn’t anywhere on my radar of things I thought I’d want to do.

But — I was having SO much fun with the design and the research, and the thought of helping others kept me going. A somewhat natural progression from need → thought → want → an actual 30-day program.

Did I feel ready to expose myself, my thoughts and ideas to the world?

NO

Did I want to do it anyway?

YES!

Was I hopeful that one day some of my ideas could help me generate a second income — allowing me to put some money aside for my darling little grandson’s future?

ABSOLUTELY YES!!

So — I did it!

I persevered, swore a LOT as I meandered through the labyrinth of getting Radiance Reset self-published via KDP.

And on 5 July 2026, I published my first book, Radiance Reset — a 30-day guided journal to help women stop disappearing in their own lives.

Along with a couple of companion journals:

Radiance Reflections — when your thoughts don’t fit in the margins.

And Radiance Right Now — a place to record those glorious everyday moments that deserve to be remembered.

I did it before I felt ready — in the middle of a huge year when my priorities were elsewhere, family obligations were top of mind, and I was still battling self-esteem, weight loss and... well, life.

Am I glad I did it?

Sure am!

Is it what I thought it would be?

NO!

It’s SO MUCH MORE!

I ended up creating the WENDIVERSE — blogs, a YouTube channel, a website, the Radiance Room, the Radiance Lounge. And, this week, I’ve started my new cookbook, Nourish with a Flourish.

And all of it started because I ran out of pages in a fitness tracker.

What door is just ahead of you, with a slight glow enticing you to peek at what’s beyond it?

Will YOU take a look?

Will you step through?

What have you got to lose?
